After nine editions in which the world was introduced to the phenomenal talents of Usain BoltKenenisa BekeleVivian CheruiyotYelena Isinbayeva and Allyson Felix, amongst others, the curtain will come down on the World Youth Championships in the tenth and final edition in Nairobi this week.

The five-day meeting, which starts on Wednesday,12 July will be broadcast live on DStv’s SS9.

South Africa, another continental heavyweight, is expected to give traditional sprint powerhouses, the USA and Jamaica, a run for their money in the men’s 100m and 200m. South Africa boasts the only sub-21 second 200m athlete in the championship, 17-year-old Retshiditswe Mlenga, who’ll be doubling up with the 100m.
