We are counting the days! The Walking Dead season eight will premiere on FOX (DStv channel 125) on Monday, 23 October at 21:00, and we can’t wait!

How will Negan react to King Ezekiel and his followers after they saved Carl and Rick’s lives? Will Maggie have a baby this season? And will the survivors be able to get their lives back and be done with Negan’s dealings once and for all?

There’s only one way to find out!

Before tuning in for what we know will be a heart-wrenching, gut-tearing season, here are three things that broke our hearts in The Walking Dead S7.

Glenn’s death
After the cliffhanger from the season six finale, The Walking Dead producers made us sit through an entire episode before revealing who was at the end of Negan’s Lucille.

Our hearts broke and we cried many tears when we learnt Glenn was no more. Over the seasons he had so many narrow escapes from danger and walkers.

Daryl’s incarceration
It took us a long while to warm up to Daryl, but he and Rick’s bromance is one of our favourite things of The Walking Dead.

And when Negan decided to lock Daryl up, we felt the torture of him having to listen to the Easy Street theme song for hours, for days.

We’re so happy he managed to escape and hopefully this season we will see him with Rick, and maybe even Dwight, as they continue to fight for peace and freedom in Alexandria.

Sasha’s death
From the music to memories (made-up and real) of Abraham, we knew the season seven finale wouldn’t end well for Sasha. But we didn’t expect it to happen as it did.

We’re glad it was on her own terms, and a walker didn’t get her, but to see her like that with the icy eyes, charging for Negan was heart-breaking!

And as much as we’ll miss Sasha, we think Maggie will feel her loss the most. But if Maggie keeping Glenn alive through her action and words in season seven is anything to go by, the survivors will still share happy memories of Sasha.
