The 68th Emmy Awards ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and will air live on M-Net.

Superb shows from your favourite DStv channels dominated the 68th Emmy Awards nominations announcement last week, with over 113 shows that you can see on DStv nominated.

It came as no surprise that shows on our very own M-Net channels continue to lead the pack with an impressive 67 nominations - get the full list here. Other DStv channels also shone with FOX (125), HISTORY® (186), BBC First (119) and Cartoon Network (301) bagging 46 nominations collectively.

Some of the top quality shows that featured prominently in nominations include: Game of Thrones (M-Net Edge, 102) with 23 nominations, the highest total for any show and star-studded courtroom drama American Crime Story: The People v OJ Simpson (FOX, 125) receiving 22 nominations.

Popular DStv favourites featured in the coveted outstanding lead categories, including the critically acclaimed British series, Downton Abbey (BBC First, 119) for Outstanding Drama Series. The epic family saga and 2016 remake of Roots (HISTORY®, 186) bagged three nominations including Outstanding Limited Series. Taraji P Henson got the nod for Lead Actress in a Drama for her portrayal of Cookie Lyon in the hit television drama, Empire (FOX, 125).

The 68th Emmy Awards ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and will air live on the morning of Monday 19 September, on M-Net channel 101 at 02:00 and the repeat will be during prime time 19:30.
