2014 was the year that marked a turning point in the acting career of Tope Tedela when he won the Best Actor in a Drama at the 2014 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards beating stiff competition from bigger and popular names. The Mass Communications graduate who had earlier acted in the TV series Edge of Paradise continued to bag several nominations and wins at major awards in 2014.

Tedela who is also a voice over artiste is fast becoming a sought after actor and in a short period of time has worked with notable directors on theater, short film and feature length productions. The Ekiti indigene is also a writer and has been published in both online and print publications.

In 2015, he was cast in Mildred Okwo’s new picture Suru’lere and Seyi Babatope’s Lunchtime Heroes. A thespian at heart, Tedela impressed audiences at this year’s Etisalat Prize for Literature where he delivered a monologue sharing the stage with two time AMVCA winner O.C. Ukeje.
