Each year, Channel O shines the spotlight and celebrates the freedoms enjoyed by today's youth, thanks to the heroic sacrifices of the youth of 1976.

It's a month during which every South African reflects on how the brave acts of those who came before us continue to define and enrich our lives in ways that would have not been possible a few decades ago. And this year, we are not missing out on our annual celebration of the freedom to navigate the space, and, amongst many other human rights, express ourselves.

In previous years, our brand has championed various campaigns to create dialogues while keeping it true to our original M.O - elevate the culture. This year, we continue down this road and bring you new creative artworks to add our voices to the importance of remembering our history, while thinking deeply of being responsible of the freedoms it now informs.

We've partnered with the Moja Cafe restaurant in Vilakazi Street, Soweto, where the historical Soweto Uprisings took place. The Soweto 76 Youth Day celebrations will find a bevy of South Africa's hottest acts assembling under one roof to both commemorate and celebrate Youth Day. The line up includes iconic Kwaito group TKZee, Cassper Nyovest, Riky Rick, Somizi and Boity.
