Who is Rae Sremmurd?

06 April 2016
Rae Sremmurd has entered a new level of super stardom, all within one year. Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy set the game on fire with their breakthrough hit “No Flex Zone” and the high-profile remixes from Pusha T and Nicki Minaj that followed. But just when people thought they would become another one-hit wonder that would be swept under the rug, the Mississippi duo dropped “No Type” and released their debut album SremmLife.

But what lies behind the circle-framed glasses and their Kriss-Kross like swagger? We take a  look at this duo!

If you didn’t realize before, Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy are actually blood brothers.

Rae Sremmurd’s breakthrough hit “No Flex Zone” was popping up on radio stations across the country. The guys were ecstatic when they learned that Nicki Minaj wanted to jump on the remix. They knew she had recorded the verse. However, they didn’t know that she would leak it. They had originally planned to hold off and release the remix later.

The Brothers Sremm have been compared to Kriss-Kross since their music blew up. While they are quite older than Kriss-Kross was when they were in the scene, Swae and Slim do possess the same energy and unique character that Kriss-Kross had with their backward pants and short dreads. They see it as a good thing because in another 10 years, the next creative duo to come around will most likely be compared to Rae Sremmurd.
