Emtee on Wednesday announced his official departure from Ambitiouz Entertainment. The rapper took to his Instagram account to detail the tales of his exit, including how his legal team assisted him on the way to the next chapter of his musical career.

Although the announcement doesn’t come as a surprise to avid fans, who rallied for his release from the label earlier this year following tweets suggesting he wants out, Emtee said the decision was not a flippant one. “This is not a decision I made lightly and without consideration”, it says here.

“Following a long and in-depth reflection on my career as an artist, where I am now and where I see myself in the next few years, I have made the decision that the time has come for me to now part ways with Amibtious Entertainment”, he wrote in a heartfelt note that broke the news. The announcement also ends months of mounting speculation about the state of affairs between Emtee and the label, with whom he had expressed displeasure on a few occasions.
