When Twitter was lit with her name for two consecutive days, it was a sign. This was earlier on in the year and since then her rise as SA hip hops freshest, was meteoric. There’s something about a petite rapper who can spit mad rhymes as well as turn around and belch like a seasoned vocalist. There’s nothing small about the girl.

Fifi Cooper San means business and her freshman album 20Fifi is nothing if not dripping in presence and authority.

In a male dominated industry, where misogyny sells better, a rapper like Fifi Cooper should have a lot of work cut out for her. But outside politics and gimmicks, it’s about the skill, something she has in heaps.

Homegrown and talented she washes over her over lyricism with her alluring sound and flair for SeTswana. The girl can sing, the girl can rap. What more can we ask for?

It’s also about being and staying true to oneself and, in 20Fifi,  while sharing the mic with hip hop heavyweights Kwesta and JR, mainstay AB Crazy and new comer Emtee, she takes the lead.

Monate C boasts a clean and clever baseline with an addictive hook to pour your nay-nay all over while in “Sebokolidi” she’s reminiscent of late great Lebo Mathosa.
