OkmalumKoolKat's contributions to the elevation of the South African Hip Hop landscape is often hailed as iconic. It's a journey that began back in Umlazi, where the "Zulu Micheal Jackson" took an interest in music. He later became half of the rap/electric duo Dirty Paraffin, before going solo with his first mixtape 'Holy Oxygen'.
Real name Smiso Zwano, the Durban native has since built a powered catalogue of sprawling hits that spill over multiple genres. Noted for his original streetwear style, dance moves, and visual creativity, OkmalumKoolKat would go on to become a household name within Southy's fattening pop culture.
And on this Friday, 10 May 2022 at 18:00, 'Future Mfana' looks to delight fans with stripped-down sessions of his discography. The rapper will be giving a number of his hits spawned by such projects as 'Mlazi Milano', Shukele Etiyeni (studio albums), as well his mixtapes 100 MaCassette, Holy Oxygen II and Bhlomington.
In between all of that, OkmalumKoolKat will be inviting fans to take deep dives inside his creative process as he talks through the genesis, vision and construction of his latest studio album uShukela eTiyeni.
