Mzansi Hip hop's new blood!

13 November 2015
Talk about exciting times for hip hop! The Mzansi scene is seeing a lot of new voices coming out to claim their fun in the sun. Just in time for the silly season.

Here are several newbies who’ve landed on our radar:

Emtee Da Hustler
There’s nothing quite like a saleable hook, and new comer, Emtee Da Hustle, is killing that hustle right now. His single Roll Up is fast becoming a club anthem. With influences like Maraza and AKA, he may have just the right ingredients to blow up.

Look out for his video on Channel O.

Aewon Wolf
You’ve seen him in your favourite TV ads but there’s miles more to this About A Week Ago hit-maker. While Aewon Wolf’s enjoyed a good amount of airplay with this bubbly sing-along, he’s also lent his voice to a worthy cause in FeesMustFall, alongside Mashayabuqe Kamamba.

Nasty C
Citing his older producer brother as an influence, 18-year-old Nasty C is something of a prodigy having spat his first rhyme at the fledgling age of nine. He’s worked with Cassper Nyovest and opened four his all time idol AKA. But calling a spade a spade, the young’un is giving the heavyweights a run for their doe, though! Cop this!

One half of Big Brother Mzansi’s power couple, Ktoozle is a man about his business. His joint Lepara is hella catchy on that hook and the guy is clearly a lyricist to look out for. He even feature’s his duchess Blue, in the video to the killer track. This cat is not to be slept on!

Arguably the more notable of the new bloods, as far as solid releases and collaborations go. Yanga has risen up the ranks from obscurity with features from KiD and AKA in Awuth’Yam. A working rapper, he’s collected more cred after directing video’s for AKA and K.O and continues to slay amongst top influencers right now!

Look out for both Awuth’Yam and Mantshingilane videos on Channel O.
