Who runs the world? Girls, of course.

Since August is dedicated to women in South Africa, we thought we'd bring you something special on Turn Up this Friday. We'll be hanging out with fabulous women who are doing great things in the music scene right now.

First up, we have Bucie, an award-winning singer who has had a successful career and has several hit songs under her name. Who can ever forget "Easy to Love?".

The hit song, which is still a fan favourite, has over  two million views on YouTube. Now that's major! Did we mention that Seal also digs Bucie's music?

We also have Gigi Lamayne in the building. The rapper inspired many young people after receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media and Anthropology at the University of the Witwatersrand earlier this year. Gigi graduated with four distinctions, and also as the top third-year Media Studies student. Talk about focus!

Gigi also proved that she's also about women empowerment after being featured in a United Nations global campaign for women's rights.

Moonchild Sanelly will also be joining us. The singer recently dropped a new song titled "Vuma", which means agree. The track is aimed at liberating women. Moonchild is not afraid to raise social issues through her music.

In a recent radio interview, she said: "...I will not never speak my mind. And I am liberating women. So, in every aspect of the word."

Here's one of the singer's hit tracks "Rabubi".
