The iconic kwaito group, who last released music as a group over 12 years ago, will be reuniting onstage for the first at the One Source Live live event, where Patoranking and Dj Maphorisa will also be performing. Various news channels, including Destiny Connect, QuenchSA ran with the story earlier this week, while TshisaLive had Oskido confirming that the group is, in fact, working on brand new music.
Consisting of members Thandiswa Mazwai, Speedy, Stoane Seate and Jahseed, Bongo Maffin was one of the most popular kwaito groups in the late 90s and early 2000s. Their sound was loved for its creative fusions of different African influences, a list of flavours that include Afro-Pop, dancehall and kwaito.
