With day breaking for the fourth time in the Big Brother house, the housemates will be very aware of the day’s importance. They’ve staked a hefty 75% on the outcome of their wager task, and – based on their rehearsals – not everyone is convinced that this was a great idea.
To be fair, a few viewers think that the teamwork is impressive and are left with positive feelings.
In the end, though, it’s Biggie who decides the outcome, but history is not on the housemates’ side: in the past, a season’s first wager presentation has overwhelmingly been met with dissatisfaction, which makes the 75% wager look that much more reckless. Losing is bad enough but having to pick yourself up while also having lost three quarters of your income is a tough ask, indeed.
As head of house, Mmeli will really be feeling the pressure. Yesterday, Blaqboi and Thabang expressed their concern with his leadership, but he felt that micromanagement is not his job.
In fact, Mmeli has been a very laid-back head of house, repeatedly stating that it’s not his job to take people by the hand and tell them what to do, instead believing that they should use their common sense. One sympathises with his position, but reality might prove him a little too relaxed. So relaxed, in fact, that yesterday was the first time he even bothered to sit in the chair, and that was only at Big Brother’s insistence.
As always, opinions amongst the housemates are diverse. As revealed during yesterday’s diary sessions, some are clearly exasperated by his “let it be” attitude, but others think he’s playing things just right. The result of the wager task will do a lot to settle the issue. ⚖️
The wager task is not the only first happening today, though. There’s also the first pool party of the season, which is always something of a weekly highlight for viewers. Not to be indelicate, but it often turns out as a highlight for some of the housemates, too, and not just because they like to take a dip. With that much skin on display, it’s often an irresistible opportunity to shoot one’s shot with another housemate who’s caught one’s attention.
The most obvious couple to watch here is Khoyemi. Khosi and Yemi Cregx have emerged as the first ship of the season, but it’s still very much early days. The pool party is going to be a good gauge as to whether or not this ship is seaworthy enough to take on a long voyage.
Also in the running are Juicy Jay and Nelisa, who shared an intimate moment last night. Somewhat muddying up the waters, however, is Yvonne, who shared her own moment with Jay the day before. The fact that all three found themselves at the same table resulted in a few people wondering if things were going to get complicated. 👀
While there has been no real indication that Lukay and Ipeleng are likely to get romantically involved, this clip from last night would suggest they’re basically a married couple already, so we include it here just for completeness’s sake. 🤣
That’s were things stand at the start of Day 4, but it’s anybody’s guess where they will stand by the end. Luckily, you know what you need to do to find out.
