It's a jolly January of premieres on Akwaaba Magic

07 January 2024
Three new shows are here to begin a fabulous year of entertainment!
Akwaaba Magic, January shows, new shows, Uncut, One Tough Question, Ahenfie

One new show is fine, two new shows are great, but Akwaaba Magic is going turbocharged with three eye-popping shows this January. We are here to let you know why you should not make the mistake of missing any of the fun!

From a 'mind-borsting' (as Kwadwo Sheldon will say) game show to suspense-filled family drama and tell-it-all reality TV, here’s a peek into what’s coming your way:

One Tough Question
Premieres on 8 January at 9:00pm
Airs Mondays – Thursdays at 9:00pm

What you’ve been waiting for is here! The first quiz and game show on Akwaaba Magic is worth the wait, trust us!

Hosted by screen star Lydia Forson, this fun game show is where the ‘strongest’ and smartest contestant in each round gets to nominate one contestant to answer one tough question! The nominated person will pick one tough question from a bowl and answer it, but then has to face a (wait for it!) a lie detector test to determine if their answer is the truth. This concept is a novelty on Ghanaian television and you’ve totally got to see it.

Premieres on 12 January at 8:30pm
Airs Fridays at 8:30pm

The newest drama series in our stables will surely get you glued. We promise!

Set in a modern Ghanaian city, this story follows the life of Kwaku and his close family as he is lured into taking up the role of Akwamuhene of Pataase. This will take him away from his role as Chief Operating Officer of Tabre Holdings, a produce company with extensive global connections. A cast that includes Fred Amugi, Gloria Safo, Henry Harding and Desiree Crenstil will definitely be good. With AJ Poundz, Joshua Fordjour, Kofi Boakye, Kofi Chosen, Emmanuel Ato Ghartey, Godwin Boateng and more, you know it will be worth watching.

Do make a date!

Premieres on 13 January at 7:00pm
Airs Saturdays at 7:00pm

This show is hosted by multiple award winning hiphop/afrobeats artist and entrepreneur D-Black. Together with his three diverse and opinionated co-hosts and celebrity guests, they discuss topics and issues most superstars will absolutely not touch! They talk about love, their creative and entrepreneurial journeys, plus sharing some of their wildest never heard before experiences and stories. It’s a banger, and definitely worth a watch!
