Mzansi Magic’s highly loved telenovela, Gomora, launched on Akwaaba Magic, and Akwaaba Magic Abusua with a Twi dubbed version of the series and we’re loving the drama so far.

While we saw Thathi become the envy of her friends due to her husband’s wealth, we saw it all come crashing down and we suddenly see her fairy tale life come to an end, as she slowly finds herself on the way to the trenches. All of these happened in episode one, which has us excited about the drama to come in this drama-filled series.

There are so many reasons to watch this captivating show, but here are just a few to keep you tuned in every Monday – Friday.

  1. Tons of drama, action, scandal, and secrets await you

Highlighting all the drama that took place in the first episode is enough to hint you on this show’s twists, turns and heat. Just when you think the worst has happened like Mbongeni dying and escaping many years in prison and Mam‘Sonto being the one behind her daughter’s husband’s tragic death, you’ll discover another nail-biting twist. Simply put, the twists and turns are unending!

  1. Look out Pablo, there’s a female crime boss in town!

Never in the history of telenovelas have we seen a woman with a heart made of steel. Pablo Escobar, who?

Why would your thugs murder your son in-law, and you have no remorseful bone in you? How does a woman who seems to be a loving mother and grandmother to many, be the most hardened criminal in the community? So many unanswered questions that we can’t wait to see all unfold in Gomora.

  1. Immerse yourself in some South African spice

From the location – Johannesburg Kasi where most of this story unfolds (when it isn’t in Sandton), to the amazing industry weights that feature in this gripping storyline like Connie Chiume, Katlego Danke, Zolisa Xaluva, Ntobeko Sishi, Siphesile Ndaba, Thembi Seete and others, they all slay their roles to perfection.
