Day 21: Dearest Biggie Reader: Go hard week had housemates up their game – BBNaija

News16 August 2026
This week, housemates made sure to put in the extra effort to win the Wager and excel in tasks. Some ships ended, while new ships started brewing.

Life in Biggie’s house was on a high, because the housemates had to deal with food scarcity and exhaustion from Wager rehearsals. Despite the challenges, the 22 housemate had to stay true to the week’s theme “Go Hard or Go Home”. The Live Eviction Show last Sunday was a wake-up call for all of them, because two people were sent home: Martins and Mercedes

Many of the housemates said that Mercedes being evicted was a big surprise. During the Live Show, Chimsom Chuka was named Most Influential Player of the Week. He has immunity for the week, which means he is safe from Nominations.

Shortly after the Live Show, the housemates got their Wager Task for week three: it was a storytelling dance challenge that brings together music, movement and performance.

Head of House (HoH) of the week

The HoH Challenge was not an easy one. In the end, Neche and Chimsom Chuka battled it out to get the title. If Chimsom Chuka had won, it would have been his second HoH reign. Neche won, and she is the second woman in the house to be the HoH. Neche had picked Sultex as the occupant of the HoH Lounge and he chose Oyin to join him.

Neche ran a strict program this week. Following their gym sessions, Neche called the  housemates, giving them a certain amount of time to get ready, eat, do house chores, and begin their Wager meetings or rehearsals. Whenever the housemates were in the kitchen too long or she found them slacking, she would voice her concerns. It was important for her to win the Wager. Last week (week 2) the housemates had lost the Wager.

There were tensions during the week around the Wager and in some cases disruptions: like when people like Tram would voice their opinions. In the end, the housemates won the Wager on Thursday evening.

The housemates each had to choose which housemates they would want to save during Live Nominations. Bluethopia, Cassi and Gerard had the most votes. Neche exercised her Veto Power in the Diary Room and removed Gerard’s name from the safe list.

Sore losers

There were several sponsored tasks this week. During the first betPawa sponsored task, two teams had to compete: Team Bold and Team Surge. When Team Bold won the competition, the other team was not happy about it. Temi Nkem hid in the bedroom and was sulking about her experience. Eventually her teammates Goddessa and Barry spoke to her and brought her downstairs to the others. Others in their team voiced their frustrations – this includes Chimsom Chuka. When Araga tried to talk to Goddessa, she had given him an attitude because she had been in the losing team. Araga was sad because she was not happy for him and it had been his first win.

Tension over food

In the previous week, the housemates had lost the Wager, so there had been food shortage this week. They agreed to ration food items and Abi took charge of this action. There had also been an incident where Kamsy flagged that eggs were disappearing.

Another issue in the kitchen was cleanliness: Flora had crashed out because of the state of the kitchen after some housemates cooked without cleaning the stovetop.

The Gambits

Aikou and Flora have received their missions and had spoken to Biggie about how far they had come with it.

Ships

Bells and Yusuf had called it quits on their relationship last week. However, by Day 16 Bells had told Yusuf that she misses him and they don’t have to be enemies. At first, Yusuf acted like he’s not keen of the friendship, but by the next day they were sharing noodles. At the Pool Party they didn’t leave each other’s sides. Soon after that they started sharing a bed again.

Gerard and Kamsy: At the start of the week, Gerard told Kamsy about his trust issues and they started being cosy with each other. However, by Saturday morning he had told Temi Nkem that he is no longer interested in Kamsy, because he feels like he is competing with Chimsom Chuka. Shortly thereafter he ended things with her.

Ricky and Sheba were flirting with each other this week.

Araga and Goddessa were lovey dovey the whole week. She had told her friends that he is moving too fast. Goddessa had a sore ankle this week and Araga had given her massages and her cooked food for her. The two had some challenges this week – as usual – and spoke about it. She had also spend a lot of time with Barry. Araga spoke to Yusuf about boundaries, and he had asked Yusuf not to talk to Goddessa in a certain way.

Cassi and Nomy: The two had spent time in the HoH Lounge and their friendship grew stronger in there. Nomy had told Cassi that she cannot vibe as friends with someone who is friends with Tram. By Sunday morning, Nomy had told Abi that Cassi had wanted to make a move on her, but she had rejected him.

Barry and Goddessa started hanging out a lot since Day 18. Their conversations are always flirtatious even though Barry keeps saying he is interested in Neche. He had told Goddessa that he doesn’t want to look like he is chasing Araga’s girl.

Chimsom Chuka and Bluethopia: The two were really cosy at the Pool Party. After that event they were inseparable. Bluethopia even consoled him when his team lost a sponsored task. The two had even shared a bed. By the end of the week, Chimsom Chuka told Barry that he really likes Bluethopia.

Keivo and Temi Nkem: It looked like the two had found their footing and they had intimate conversations. But by early Saturday morning, Temi Nkem told Gerard that she was no longer feeling Keivo. She even admitted to Sheba that Tram had kissed her. Shortly thereafter, she ended things with Keivo.

Some of the friendships that have blossomed were Oyin and Flora, Abi and Nomy, Aikou and Flora, Chimsom Chuka and Barry, Barry and Ricky, Bluethopia and Neche, Goddessa and Sheba, and Gerard and Yusuf,
