The longest-standing relationship on Mother of the Brides has taken a heartbreaking turn. After unintentionally overhearing a conversation between Mai Sisi and Francis, Ebinira learns the real reason behind the proposal she had been so excited about — and her world comes crashing down.

Mai Sisi makes Francis an irresistible offer

Desperate to secure her daughter’s future, Mai Sisi pays Francis a visit and pushes him to propose to Ebinira. She promises that once the family gains access to Erasmus’s estate, Francis will be handsomely compensated. To seal the deal, she offers him one million naira immediately after the proposal and another million once the council of elders approves the marriage.

Although Francis initially refuses, he is battling severe financial pressure, and his mother is gravely ill. The offer becomes too tempting to turn down, and he reluctantly agrees.

Ebinira accidentally discovers the truth

Meanwhile, Ebinira is excited about finally taking the next step with Francis. But Francis, weighed down with guilt, decides he wants to do things the right way. He goes to Mai Sisi to return her money, determined to confess everything and propose to Ebinira on his own terms.

Mai Sisi is furious, and the argument quickly becomes heated — just as Ebinira walks in. She overhears everything and realises that Francis accepted money to propose to her.

The betrayal cuts deep. Heartbroken and humiliated, Ebinira lashes out and ends the relationship immediately.
