Edidiong is Anie’s cousin and the competent manager of her grandmother’s business in Anie’s absence. She serves as the family’s representative among the Daughters of Water, a role that comes with both responsibility and visibility.
Ambitious and assertive, Edidiong often clashes with Anie over what she perceives as preferential treatment from their grandmother. She is also romantically involved with Nsikak, the Crown Prince, which places her at the centre of attention and adds complexity to her relationships within the village.
