Former Nigerian Idol Judge, Yinka Davies makes a come-back to shine up some stars.
Nigerian Idol

Our Guest Judge this week is no stranger to Nigerian Idol. Having served as a Judge for 5 Seasons, it’s definitely unarguable that she is definitely fit for the Job. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back Yinka Davies!

Let’s reintroduce her, shall we? Yinka Davies is a singer, actor, painter and dancer who has been a part of the Nigerian art and entertainment industry for 3 decades. Her first foray into arts was ironically not music which she is known for. She started her journey as a painter and had her first major gig when the late Bassey Effiong commissioned her to paint the stage for a production at the National Theatre, Lagos, Nigeria.

During her visits to the National Theatre, Yinka visited different venues in the complex to see what activities were taking place in them. This action made her stumble on Elizabeth Hammond who inspired her to become a dancer. Yinka finally launched into the music scene by starting out as a backup singer. One of her earliest gigs was being a backup singer for Alex O from the year 1990 to 1992. She has since gone on to release 3 albums and featured in various stage plays.

Finally, Yinka is one of the longest-serving Judges in the history of Nigerian Idol having started with the launch of the show in 2010 and stayed on for another 4 Seasons.
