14 seasons, sha! Can you believe it?! It’s been an incredible journey down entertainment alley and for the longest time, Tinsel has kept us on our toes with the most diverse cast and mind-boggling storylines. This week, we celebrate five women that have been part of our viewing experience for a long time and keep igniting glowing splinters on our screens!

Sheila Ade-Williams (Played by Ireti Doyle)

Sheila is arguably one of the boulders of the story. She’s been through hell and back and still managed to put both her personal and professional ducks in single file. Her relationships haven’t always been as clear as day, but her rock-solid character continues to pull her through. It also helps that the character is interpreted by one of Nollywood’s greatest talents, Ireti Doyle. Crush-worthy indeed.

Brenda Nana Mensah (Played by Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi)

Brenda has gone from sweetheart to villain more times than we can count and her ability of bounce back and show her counterparts that it’s always ‘business as usual’ makes her the ultimate woman crush. After losing her business, founding another and having to deal with a questioned integrity, it’s shocking that she survived. Funlola Aofiyebi Raimi does so much justice to this character, and we love to see it.

Bimpe (Played by Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman)

If colourful, playful and jolly were a person, Bimpe would most definitely be it. She’s witnessed more changes than most characters and like the boss lady that she is, adapted and dodged death. Her relationship with bae, Damini (Ibrahim Suleiman) has to be the cutest to ever come out of the show, and the fact that they’re married in real life too gives us all the feels. We love love, sha!

Amaka Ade-Williams (Funmi Holder)

Over the years, Amaka has learnt that the name she carries is much less weight than the strength required to swim through muddy waters. Her trajectory has been that of resilience and hardcore survival and we’re definitely here for it. The fact that microbiologist turned actress, writer and producer, Funmi Holder is the one interpreting such a diverse role makes Amaka magic that much more appealing.

Sankey (Anne Njemanze)

Police officer extraordinaire, detective hawk’s eyes, upholder of the law and and and... Though Sankey has broken the law just to scream ‘BINGO’ and hold big fish criminals accountable for their deeds, she exudes a mystery that makes her character that much more essential for the unfolding of the storylines. Kudos to Anne for bringing life to such a well-rounded character.

Tinsel is arguably one of the longest-running television servings in the land and the fact these ladies have aided in its longevity with their stellar performances is a wow factor for us. One that’s deserving of celebration. Kudos to these queens for a job well done.

Watch Tinsel every weeknight at 19:30 on Africa Magic Showcase for your portion of the drama.
