The impromptu visit of the pandemic forced everyone to look for ways to adapt to a new work schedule (WFH). All work and no play makes … which is why we decided to bring you ways for adapting to a new party from home schedule, while you continued to WFH. We called it the Turn Up Friday show, courtesy of Pepsi and Infinix.

With spicy elements and fun twists incorporated into #AMTurnUpFriday, we didn’t miss partying at the clubs one bit. Who would have thought partying through your TV screens could be so much fun?

The Upcoming DJ Battles

Thanks to Pepsi, DJs were given an opportunity to compete for a grand prize in the Upcoming DJ Battle. Every episode featured two DJs who took turns in competing for a chance in the grand finale and for this, the audience were asked to select their favourite male or female DJ.

Our awesome celebrity DJs and amazing performing guest artistes

From DJ Cuppy to Crowd Kontroller, DJ Xclusive, DJ Spinall and DJ Consequence, every Friday night was a hit back-to-back. These DJs made us dance all night long and we still didn’t want each episode to end.

Shout out to the special guests that made Turn Up Friday turnt for us during Lockdown. Their special performances and vocal delivery made us turn our homes into a mini karaoke bar as we sang along in every episode.

Which performance was your fave?

Lit dance crews

Wahala for who no sabi dance o. We definitely learnt one or two dance steps from our featured dance groups on the show. Palliative dance, zanku and even other dance steps that may or may not have their own names graced our screens every Friday night and we loved every bit of it.

Duh! The Energy gAD

No words can describe the amount of energy the host brough to the show every Friday night. His energy was so contagious that he left us no choice but to be pumped all night. All hail the best to ever do it, Dotun!
