Meet the coaches: Waje

Singing flows in Aituaje "Waje" Iruobe's voice. The popular songstress first got bitten by the music bug when she was a young student at the Word of Faith Group of Schools.

As a coach on The Voice Nigeria contestants can expect her to be one of the fun but equally firm coaches in her guiding style. Don't be fooled though by the singer's playful nature, she's traded microphones with some of the biggest names in African entertainment and is a force to be reckoned with. Take a look at a few fun facts about Waje:


    • Her stage name is actually an acronym for “Words Aren’t Just Enough”.

    • Waje's singing career began when she was part of the choir at the Word of Faith Group of Schools where she sang gospel.

    • A woman of many talents, Waje has also been featured on the big screen, starring in the 2014 film 'Tunnel'.

    • Entertainment also runs through her family. Her sister, Amaka Iruobe, has acted in popular Africa Magic soap 'Tinsel'.





  • The award winning singer has worked locally with M.I., P Square and Banky W to name a few as well as shared the stage with international acts such as Wyclef Jean and Kerry Hilson.
