Before making it onto The Voice, Jermaine auditioned for other singing shows but suprisingly wasn't picked.
While his career was still on the come up, Jermaine recorded backing vocals for artists such as Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Joss Stone and Blackstreet.
He was even once nominated for a Grammy for the category "Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals" for "If This World Were Mine" by Alicia Keys featuring Jermaine Paul.
When entering The Voice USA he auditioned with "Complicated" from Avril Lavigne.
Apart from singing, Jermaine can also play the piano, keyboards, synthesizer, drums, bass and acoustic guitar.
