African music at its finest is the theme for this Sunday's Live Show!

The Top 12 had us all pumped as they dished hit after hit during the first Live Show of the Season and we just couldn’t get enough of it.

Well, the beat goes on this Sunday because our Nigerian Idol Contestants will be belting out memorable tunes from the African Greats. This means hits from the motherland will rent the air on Sunday and y’all know African artists are at the top of the music chain, so expect an unforgettable spectacle. "How spectacular?" you may be wondering?

Let’s help you with a glimpse as we introduce what the Top 12 will be singing this Sunday.

Banty – Aye

Banty is going to be giving us some Omo Baba Olowo vibes as she does her thing to the tune of ‘Aye’ by Davido. 

Debby –Vulindlela

Debby is taking the vibe to the southern part of Africa as she will be performing 'Vulindlela' by late South African music legend Brenda Fassie.

Jordan – Ye

Jordan is going to be dishing out some laid back vibes as he performs Burna Boy’s smash hit ‘Ye’

Progress – Joy

We hope Progress brings joy to viewers on Sunday as he will be performing Wizkid’s 2014 hit track ‘Joy’.

David Operah – Street Credibility

David Operah will be taking it to the streets as he will be performing ‘Street Credibility’ by 9ice featuring 2baba.


Precious – He Lives In You

Precious will be doing her best to recreate the magic from the Lion King soundtrack by singing ‘He Lives In You’, originally performed by Lebo M.

Abigail – Emergency 

Abigail has got the tough job of doing justice to a song by one of our Judges. She will be performing D’banj’s 2017 smash hit ‘Emergency’.

Faith – Always On My Mind

Faith is going to be singing a ballad by Nigerian music heavyweight Lagbaja. The song ‘Alway on My Mind’ is off Lagbaja’s 2005 album, ‘Africano… the mother of groove’ and features vocalist Ego Ihenacho.  

Itohan – If You Ask Me

Itohan is going to be serving some hot vocals with the iconic Omawumi single ‘If You Ask Me’. The song is off Omawumi’s sophomore album ‘Lasso of Truth’.

Gerald – Ifunanya

Gerald will be putting his heart on the table as he performs the track ‘Ifunanya’ a song about heartbreak, from the stable of P-Square.

Zadok – Back To The Matter

Zadok will also be rocking the stage with Wizkid's 2013 hit track ‘Back To The Matter’.

Joel – African Queen 

Joel takes on the heavyweight 2baba himself as he performs his 2004 smash hit ‘African Queen’.
