In the spirit of national pride, 53 travels embarked on another tour and this time, taking in the picturesque views of historical points in Lagos.
The TBS, the national theatre and the famous Arometa statue were our first stops before heading to the ancient city of Ibadan, home to the country’s first TV station, several colonial-styled architecture, as well as the prestigious first-degree awarding institution, the University of Ibadan.
I addition to all the sightseeing adventures plated us by mother nature and man’s capable hands, Simi and Mawuli explored the art of television excellence.
From Agodi gardens, we took a look at the Kajuru castle, Olumo rock and Obudu cattle ranch, adding to the ‘beautiful places to visit in Nigeria’ list. We ended our adventure atop Ibadan bower tower and boy was that a breath-taking treat.
To place a few well-ripened cherries on top of our already absolutely amazing adventure cake, we had the rare privilege of having the traditional ruler of the Yoruba kingdom, Ile-Ife since his 2015 appointment, host 53 extra. With the immensely cultural yet strikingly modern King, we delved into the nation’s rich collective heritage and further unearthed our colourful history - A treat like no other!
