Our spicy Africa Magic June shows recap is full of DRAMA!

News

A lot went down on Africa Magic this June, and we've got the scoop.
june recap

We asked for drama – and we got a full dose this month. We also asked for suspense, tension, and humour and we got served.

Here are all the storylines we loved.

The mother drama (Dilemma)

Tension is on the rise in Dilemma, with Zira’s return. Her arrival sparked discord in the family as she announced that Tahir is the true son of Farouq Waziri, much to Tanko's dismay. He had always believed he was Tahir's true father. In light of this revelation, Tahir is conflicted as to the true motives of Zira, the woman who claims to be his birth mother. Kaineto, who never bought Zira's act, decided to pay her off and this backfired when it got leaked to the public.

This move further widened the gap between Kaineto and Tahir. Aside from that, Kaineto faced more challenges as she tried to exit the business but was met with stiff resistance from the board. Dembele offered her an ‘out’ though, but it comes at a price: she leaves empty-handed. In other news, Yolaine and Salma got into a fight with Raoul, and he ended up falling and passing out. He was later finished off by Silk. Now Noelle is on a quest to avenge her son's death. Whew!

Blood on the streets (Venge)

It's a power struggle between rival gangs on Venge! With William on a murder spree, it didn't take long for him to find Angela, the daughter of the opposing gang's leader. As a way of satisfying his lust for revenge, he murdered Angela, bringing her dad Owolabi to a state of shock – and leaving her mother, Mama K, torn between anger and despair. Angela isn't the only one who paid the ultimate price. Gang members on both sides have gotten caught in the crossfire. Bibi is still on a quest for revenge as she got an opportunity to kill William but missed. In return, William placed a 5 million Naira bounty on her head. We can’t wait to see the story unfold in July.

Tejiri wears the pants (My Flatmates)

Jite is still stuck trying to prove to his flatmates that he is the man of the house, but the truth is Tejiri calls the shots. From giving him allowance for daily upkeep, to sending him on errands, Jite might be lost in Tejiri's sauce and the only person he needs to convince is himself. Every other flatmate knows the truth already. We actually love this new dynamic. Besides, it is nice to have a new iron lady in addition to Mimi on the show.

Prince and his failed love advances (The Johnsons)

Prince is still hellbent on trying to make Fatima his woman. We admire his tenacity, but it's just amusing watching him try to get a lady who isn't interested. His antics have us in stitches. First, he told Fatima to go out with him on three occasions and that if she doesn't fall in love, he won't bother her again. Guess who had cold feet when Fatima wanted to make the agreement legally binding? Prince! Then he had the audacity to get a ludicrous injunction that Fatima never date anyone ever again. What a guy! Now for some reason, he believes he will marry Fatima and has even started practicing the first kiss. Someone better wake him up.

The Judah’s betrayal (My Siblings and I)

It's been a rollercoaster ride for James, all month long. He got himself a driver for his cab-hailing business and it hasn't been a smooth ride. From shortchanging to not delivering on the agreed-upon delivery Target, Judas the driver is really living up to his notable namesake by betraying his boss. James has his hands full with this drama and at the same time, contending with his best friend Samson, who might be encroaching on his love interest. Ouch!

Ezinna's many woes (Eve)

With her staff turning on her, the possibility of losing her firm, and a complicated love life, Ezinna is not having it easy at all. Her need to salvage her business has resulted in her agreeing to a merger with Cornelius. A merger that might end up with her losing her firm completely. As if that isn't enough, she represents a school that lost students due to a building collapse. Not only did her staff turn on her, but there was the case of an angry mob waiting outside the court (and her office) protesting her decision to represent the school. Good thing she has Peter by her side helping her though, but now that a romantic affair is building between them, things are only going to get a lot more chaotic. Hopefully, the tide will turn for her in July.

Ghosts from the past (Tinsel)

In other news, Patra is back and bringing with her all the memories from the past and as expected, not everyone is pleased to see her. Guess Belinda isn't the only one back to cause chaos; just ask John! Nothing has been the same since she got back.

What a month we've had! We can't wait to see what new drama our shows have in store for us in the month of July. Just in case you missed any of the shows, don't sweat it. Kick back, relax and binge-watch all on Showmax Naija.
