The first Live Show of Nigerian Idol Season 7 happened amidst a cheerful and exhilarating mood. We got to meet the Top 12 officially and also witnessed the show taking place in a new home alongside a live audience that sent emotions through the roof.

The night started with IK who welcomed us to what was going to be an amazing time. Then came the introduction of the Judges Simi and Obi Asika who looked every bit gracious in their appearance. As for D’banj, he was missing in action not until he made a surprise entrance on stage singing the signature phrase ‘Your face show, your shoe shine’. It was fire 🔥 even the Top 12 had to go join him when he beckoned on them and for a good 5 minutes, we felt like we were already witnessing a concert.

After that awesome moment, the time came for serious business to take place. The first to perform was Abigail whose performance of ‘Rain on Me’ made the Judges thank their stars they weren’t making the decision about who would stay or leave because they knew it was going to be a tough one. Next to perform was David Operah whose performance was every bit smooth. Then came Faith who Simi admitted she was proud of as she enjoyed every bit of her performance.

Jordan was next up and gave a vocally thrilling performance of Adele’s ‘Rolling in The Deep’.  Speaking of vocal thrills, next on the list of performers was Zadok whose performance of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’ had the Judges on their feet. Next up to give an amazing performance was Progress whose performance of Giveon’s ‘Heartbreak Anniversary’ had D’banj on his feet.

At this point y’all have to understand social media was on fire thanks to the amazing performances so far. Many were in awe of the type of performances they just witnessed and agreed the Top 12 were truly stars

Next up was Joel who performed Adele’s ‘Easy on Me’. Though he received accolades for owning the stage, he was advised to be more confident in his performance. Then cam Banty who performed another Ed Sheeran classic ‘Thinking Out Loud’ the performance had all the Judges on their feet once more and happy that she was a part of the Top 12.

Speaking of smooth performances, Gerald came with some silky moves for his performance of ‘Silk Sonic’s’ ‘Leave The Door Open’. Precious moved things further with Ckay’s hit single ‘Felony’ and was advised by the Judges not to sacrifice her vocals for performance. Then came the ‘Baby Dragon’ Itohan who performed Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s single ‘Shallow’. Her performance drew admiration from the Judges who felt honoured to have her on stage. The last performance of the night was that of Debby who performed Lojay and Sarz’ hit track ‘Monalisa’.

The first LiveShow saw the Top 12 bring their best foot forward and all that is left to keep them going is your Vote. Make sure you Vote for your fave as that would be the only way to keep them on the show. You can do that by moving over to the Vote page here.
