The Big Brother House is currently home to a series of long-suffering sycophants trying to impress the current reigning Head of House Maria, who was instructed to make the Housemates believe that she had sole power to Evict two Housemates of her choice this coming Sunday – and it’s safe to say that they’re pretty convinced.
In the spirit of these happenings, we asked the BBNaija audience to tell us what extremes they’ve gone to in their attempts to impress someone – and the responses were… well, pretty extreme. Let’s start with the usual, run-of-the-mill sort of extreme.
Public displays of affection like singing in public and kneeling down are par for the course – at least in romantic comedies. Tattooing their name on your body is also something we see in romcoms, although that tends to be the idiotic thing the best friend character does that backfires, badly. You’d better hope the relationship lasts as long as the ink.
Then, there were those who decided to impress with their finances – this is normal stuff, but we were surprised by how far some people would actually go.
Handing over the last of your cash or an entire month’s salary is perhaps taking things a bit far, not to mention endangering your education for the object of your desire. That’s basically risking your entire future for a future with them. Think it through next time, people!
At least these people had the money to spend. Look at this romantic little felon:
Stealing money is definitely a bit much. A life behind bars is never particularly good, even if you do have a photo of a loved one to stick up on the wall next to your bunk. Criminality aside, though, we think this next one is even worse:
You sold your house? And your car? No. No, no, no – it’s probably better just to steal something. At least prison is a place to live!!!
Then we have the mostly harmless:
Fanning somebody while they sleep? Adorable. Buying a person a sweet in high school? That’s just so primary school. Faking an accent? Nah – way too much work to maintain. Maturity, though, is actually something we expect. Unless there’s something you’re not saying? Exactly how big was the age difference between the two of you?
Also, learning to cook a bunch of different types of soup? That’s at least a useful skill. No harm in that.
Okay – this person clearly knows how to get our attention! We’re glad you’re watching.
We’ve saved the strangest for last:
Uhm… Okay? We have no idea how to respond to this. Excuse us – we need to go lie down and think about this one.
