Odafe Jr is the second protagonist. He is defined by his internal struggles with acceptance, relevance, the weight of parental legacy and expectation, and his external struggle with violence shaping his environment. Odafe Jr is the only son of Chief Odafe, the ruthless chairman of the community. He grew up under the iron-handed parenting of his father, who expects him to succeed him eventually. He has an older half-sister, Kevwe, who is a ruthless copy of her father. He has given up on having a good relationship with her and is merely tolerating her since she is family.
