Day 69: Inconsolable babies and a battle to refill the pool and prize pot – BBNaija

The house is still filled with baby cries, but the housemates now face a task to refill an inflatable pool with small cups – all in the name of boosting the grand prize pot.

With just two more sleeps left until one housemate is crowned the 10/10 winner, the countdown is on. But it’s not only the title that’s up for grabs – there are still two more days for the housemates to try and refill the grand prize pot. The money has been fluctuating all season, thanks to weekly performances and the costly interruptions of the Red Telephone. Among those who’ve already dipped into the pot are Koyin and Kaybobo, who spent on pampering, family visits, and in Kaybobo’s case, a ticket to the finale. Now, Biggie has set a fresh task to give them all the chance to boost the prize: today’s Splash and Dash.

The challenge looked simple on paper. Housemates had to don their designated outfits and fill an inflatable pool using only a small cup, working together to get the job done. The twist? They were not allowed to use the water already in the pool – only from the sink in the garden. Up and down they went, cups in hand, tipping water into the inflatable.

Isabella soon grew tired, but Koyin stepped in to help, carrying her cup along with his. Imisi later got tired too, while Mensan proved the ultimate teammate by juggling his cup as well as hers to keep things moving.

But Biggie’s instructions to “work together” meant exactly that. When some housemates sat back to rest while others carried on, the team was penalised. Their progress was wiped away as Biggie ordered them to empty out the little water they had managed to collect and start again from scratch. The mood dipped instantly, with frustration written all over the house. Dede even threw in a dramatic fall for good measure.

Isabella was especially unimpressed, questioning why her moment of rest had triggered such a setback for everyone. But sulking couldn’t stop the mission – the inflatable still had to be filled.

As if the punishment wasn’t enough, Isabella later faced another test with her baby doll from the parenting task. The doll was inconsolable, crying endlessly. She tried coddling and breastfeeding, but quickly became overwhelmed and ended up handling it roughly. Koyin was not happy, reminding her that the task might not involve a real child, but it was still important to treat it seriously. Imisi stepped in, changing the nappy and even accessorising the doll with her glasses in an effort to settle it, but the crying continued. Kola, on the other hand, was in disbelief when Isabella pretended to breastfeed the doll – though ironically, it worked, and the baby finally quietened down.

Now the big question looms: will the housemates’ collective efforts be enough to restore the grand prize to its original glory before the finale? With the clock ticking, all we can do is wait and see.
