Koyin emerged victorious in tonight’s HoH games, claiming the title of Interim HoH and choosing Jason Jae as his condo partner – much to Jason’s delight. But while the champagne moment felt sweet, it came with a surprising twist. Jason Jae was promptly named one of this week’s snails for his tardiness, while Isabella joined him in snail suits after being declared the worst performer.
Biggie didn’t stop there. Mensan and Joanna felt the sting of discipline for failing to bring their snail suits to the arena and hand them over to the new snails. As punishment, Mensan remains on bathroom duty – which he admitted he doesn’t mind – while Joanna has been tasked with dishwashing for the entire week. To make matters more serious, no other housemate is allowed to wash dishes, or they risk punishment too. Imisi made sure to remind Sultana of this, shouting the loudest when Biggie asked if the housemates understood. For disobeying Big Brother, Sultana will now spend a week sitting on the floor when they are gathered.
All this unfolded in the shadow of Sunday’s double eviction. Tracy and Denari may be gone, but Ebuka left plenty of chaos in his wake. From Mide and Joanna learning that Isabella and Imisi had been gossiping about them, to fuel being thrown on the Thelma Lawson–Rooboy fire, the house has been left shaken.
Kola, in particular, is struggling after Ebuka’s subtle hint that housemates are keeping their enemies close. He is upset after hearing Bright Morgan’s comments about his kiss with Isabella, feeling betrayed by someone he once thought encouraged him. Meanwhile, Jason Jae confronted Rooboy about loyalty, accusing him of compromising their friendship with unkind remarks. For viewers, this only confirmed suspicions that Rooboy has never been the friend Jason believed him to be.
“Fake friends,” Imisi muttered as she tried to console a distraught Kola, who still couldn’t believe Bright Morgan’s words.
But not all bonds appear broken. Despite Imisi telling Ebuka that Isabella had been behind the gossip about Joanna and Mide, the two were seen holding hands during the HoH games, signalling that their friendship may be intact. Likewise, Isabella and Sultana looked unshaken after Thelma Lawson’s claims that Sultana had insulted Isabella’s body. With their hands clasped tightly, they presented a united front, leaving viewers to wonder whether these are genuine alliances – or the classic Big Brother tactic of keeping enemies close.
The tables have well and truly been shaken, and it’s only the beginning of the week. Will friendships survive, or are we about to see more cracks in the house?
