Will Dan’s web of lies finally unravel? – My Flatmates

News27 October 2025
Between his imaginary car, made-up millions, and unshakable confidence, Dan’s been living in his own movie. But every blockbuster has an ending. Will this one crash and burn?
Will Dan’s web of lies finally unravel? – My Flatmates

Let’s be honest, being rich looks like fun… until you actually have to pretend to be rich. Just ask Dan, our resident show-off from My Flatmates, whose talent for lying could earn him an award for Best Fictional Life Story. From “new cars” to “big deals,” Dan’s life is one long freestyle performance, and his flatmates? Unwilling audience members who can’t look away. Let’s break down his wildest lies so far.

The SUV that wasn’t his
It all started with a “brand new SUV.” At least, that’s what Dan told everyone. The truth? The car actually belonged to his sister’s boss, who let her use it to make commuting easier. Dan saw the perfect opportunity and took it. Before anyone could blink, Honourable Dan was cruising around town, windows rolled down, pretending to be the newest big boy in the neighbourhood. He even started walking differently, with that slow, confident “I pay my bills in foreign currency” energy.

When Chioma drove his lie away
Every great lie has its downfall, and Dan’s came quicker than a Lagos Agbero ticket. Chioma borrowed the SUV for work one morning, and guess who saw it? Her boss. The actual owner of the car.
Let’s just say, not only did the car 'enter his eye', he immediately decided to take the car back and give it to his new girlfriend. Oof. Dan’s face when Chioma came home empty-handed could only be described as premium heartbreak.

The imaginary accident
Dan wasn’t ready to let go of his big man fantasy. So he told everyone the car had been in a horrible accident and was completely written off. According to him, the damage was so bad that only the number plate survived. For a while, everyone believed him. Everyone except Ubong, who found it odd that a man in such a huge “accident” had no bandages, no limp, not even a scratch.

The lie that almost paid off
Instead of quitting while he was ahead, Dan went deeper. He started talking about how much it would cost to fix the car, mentioning millions like he had an oil company on standby.
The most shocking part? Baba Landlord believed every word. He even approved Dan dating his daughter, clearly impressed by this “affluent young man.” Imagine that. A fake car leading to a real relationship. Only on My Flatmates.

Will Dan ever come clean?
By now, Dan’s lies are piling up faster than rent on the first of the month. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned from him, it’s that every story eventually runs out of fuel. Will he finally tell the truth, or will he come up with something even more ridiculous? One thing is certain: his drama is far from over. Catch all the fun, fibs, and fallout on My Flatmates, weekdays at 7 pm on Africa Magic Showcase.
