And then Jite nagged her so much about it that she actually took it out. Removed. Reversed. Gone. What happened next was the ultimate punishment: the legendary closed-legs treatment for weeks. Poor Jite has been begging like someone applying for a loan. No success.

The rent is due, and love cannot pay bills
Now in the present day, Jite is broke, and not the cute “I’ll be fine by month's end” broke. This is the painful “rent is due, and the landlord’s footsteps sound like thunder” type of broke. Tejiri, however, comes home with what sounds like a genius plan. She bumped into an old friend whose father just passed away (sorry sir) and was left a massive inheritance. One snag: he can only get the money if he is married. And who does he ask to be his temporary wife? You guessed it, Tejiri.

Jite hears the plan and explodes
When Tejiri runs this proposal by Jite, the man nearly combusts. And honestly, who would not? Imagine your partner telling you, “Baby, don’t be angry. I just need to fake-marry someone real quick so we can pay our bills.” Naturally, Jite said a very firm “Never!”

But then he heard the price tag
Just when the tension was thick enough to slice with a butter knife, Tejiri mentioned the amount involved: Ten. Million. Naira. Suddenly, Jite became calm. Very calm. His spirit entered airplane mode. You could almost see the calculations downloading in his brain.
