Imoh is a wealthy young man who sees himself as self-made and demands recognition for it. He is Edidiong’s boyfriend, unaware that he has been quietly replaced until he discovers her affair with Nsi. Furious and humiliated, especially after the money he has spent on her, Imoh becomes violent on multiple occasions, placing him at the centre of suspicion when Edidiong is later murdered.
Despite his aggression, Imoh does not have the stomach for murder. Unknown to Edidiong, he has been sleeping with Charity while insisting on complete fidelity from her. When the water spirit clears him of guilt, Imoh sets out to reclaim his reputation and subtly prove that Nsi is responsible for Edidiong’s death. In his search, he uncovers evidence that points to Kufre as the true killer.
This discovery costs him his life. Kufre murders Imoh and stages the body to frame Nsi.
Imoh’s driving need is recognition. He wants to be seen as the “big man” around town, and his public image matters deeply to him. Dating Edidiong was one of the ways he signalled his arrival and success.
At his core, Imoh is deeply insecure. He fears humiliation and being made a fool of, and when that fear is triggered, he resorts to violence to reassert dominance. He is motivated by an obsessive need to prove that he has made it, no matter the cost.
