Azubuike may have been the one who physically poisoned Jidenna, but he was merely a pawn in a far more sinister scheme. His secret love for Chisom was weaponised against him, allowing Nwokeze to manipulate and brainwash him into harming his closest friend.
By the time Azubuike realized what he had done, it was already too late! Nwokeze had turned the entire community against him and even cast a spell that stopped him from speaking the truth whenever he was questioned.

Azubuike is put behind bars

In prison, Azubuike had time to reflect on the chaos surrounding him. Both Chisom and Adaora visited, but only Adaora knew he was truly innocent. Still, the two of them were powerless against Nwokeze’s influence.
Azubuike slowly resigned himself to his fate, and his only comfort came from confessing the full truth to the Priestess in Jidenna’s presence. But destiny had already taken its course.

Azubuike is banished

Ogbuefi summoned the elders, and in front of his devastated family, Azubuike was brought forward to hear his judgment. The verdict was final and heartbreaking: banishment to the forest of no return.
After his exile, his family endured cruel ridicule from the community and eventually even had to limit their outings.

However, the lingering questions remain: Will the truth ever surface? And will Azubuike’s name one day be cleared?
