Wager day is getting closer, and the pressure is starting to show. With just a day left to fine-tune their presentation, the housemates must balance rehearsals, disagreements, chores and their increasingly tired bodies.
As the clock ticks, everyone has something to prove and there is little room for anyone to drop the ball. Here’s what’s happening on day 17 in the Show Ya Sef house.
8:00 am – Wager rehearsals take centre stage
After completing their dance workout, the housemates returned to the house, where Neche gave them 10 minutes to get ready and return to the lounge.
Once they regrouped, Neche reminded them that this was their last day to fine-tune their wager presentation. The housemates also tidied up the house, although Flora was heard complaining that she wasn't going to take on a kitchen chore.
Away from the chores, Araga made noodles for Goddessa, while Yusuf and Bells shared a bowl of noodles. Their cosy food moment caught Abi's attention, prompting her to tease that the two were “playing love.”
With the attention of the housemates secured, wager rehearsals began, with Sultex taking charge.
9:00 am – Sleep becomes the enemy
Sultex asked Bells to perform a split as part of the presentation, but she declined, explaining that she had a personal reason for not wanting to do one on stage.
Neche also became concerned about the number of housemates in the kitchen while rehearsals were ongoing, reminding everyone that there was little time to waste.
Araga massaged Goddessa's ankle, leaving her groaning in pain.
As rehearsals continued, the housemates battled to stay awake. The long hours of preparation were clearly taking their toll with Cassi, Nomy, Temi Nkem sleeping in the lounge.
Tensions rose when Tram and Abi had a back-and-forth over an interruption. Tram explained that he doesn't like being interrupted, particularly when he's trying to express himself.
He also complained that everyone was “doing too much” this week. Abi explained that she only stepped into the situation because she didn't want things to escalate into another fight.
Keivo then joined the conversation, attempting to clarify to Tram that he wasn't trying to take over or interfere with his role in the wager.
10:00 am – Tram gets some tough love
Araga and Goddessa revisited the quarrel that broke out between them the previous day, with Goddessa jokingly telling Araga that he broke her heart.
Chimsom Chuka sat down with Sultex to discuss the tension surrounding the wager. The conversation touched on Tram's frustration after Keivo asked to change his role in the presentation. According to Tram, when he later wanted to make a change himself, some of the housemates objected and that was what annoyed him.
Chimsom Chuka offered Tram some perspective, pointing out that whenever the housemates receive a task, some immediately start saying what they cannot do. He singled Tram out as one of those housemates, while noting that others are always eager to take on challenges.
He reminded Tram that this is a competition, and encouraged him to embrace the competitive nature of the game. Chimsom Chuka also commended Tram for his performance in one of the previous challenges, while Sultex occasionally chipped in to agree with his points.
11:00 am – Keivo reacts to the double eviction
Diary sessions began with Keivo taking the first seat in the diary room. When asked about the double eviction, Keivo said Martins’ eviction did not come as a surprise to him because he felt Martins was too soft for the competition, although he showed more of himself in the second week.
Mercedes’ eviction, however, caught him off guard. Keivo admitted that he expected her to stay in the game a little longer.
Sheba was next to share her thoughts on Chimsom Chuka. She admitted that it is difficult to tell exactly what game he is playing and argued that she deserved to be named Most Influential Player of the Week. Sheba also said she had no regrets about saving Chimsom Chuka when she was HoH the previous week, explaining that, at the time, he was her strongest ally in the house.
12:00 pm – Flora calls out the kitchen crew
Flora was not impressed with the state of the kitchen after some housemates cooked without cleaning the stovetop. She expressed her frustration and threatened to report the matter to the HoH if it wasn't addressed.
Ricky then entered the diary room and revealed that he did not want Chimsom Chuka to win this week’s HoH challenge. His reason? He finds Chimsom Chuka annoying plus Chimsom Chuka said he is better than everyone else.
Ricky also brought up Nomy, admitting that their relationship has gone south and that Nomy gets on his nerves. He reflected on how they entered the house together but said things have since gone left.
1:00 pm – Oyin opens her black book
Oyin entered the diary room and reflected on her altercation with Mercedes, admitting that they never got the chance to have a proper conversation before Mercedes’ eviction. She said that if they had spoken, she would have asked Mercedes why she was being provocative. Oyin also admitted that she wasn't particularly sad about Mercedes leaving because, in her words, they simply weren't at that level in the house.
She then opened her metaphorical black book and started naming housemates who have rubbed her the wrong way. First on the list was Bluethopia, whom she accused of insulting people under the guise of making jokes. She also questioned Chimsom Chuka’s character, saying she doesn't believe he is genuinely nice.
Still on the subject of last week's wager loss, Oyin made a hilarious request to Biggie. She acknowledged that they lost the wager but pleaded with Biggie to make an exception and add fish to their eggs because, according to her, they needed it.
Araga was next in the diary room, where he told Biggie that he suspects Cassi is the Gambit, adding that Cassi gives him a strange energy. He also complained about some housemates mixing the cereal, saying it wasn't fair, and noted that people in the house have a habit of hiding things.
2:00 pm – Temi Nkem gets emotional
As expected, Temi Nkem’s diary room session came with plenty of tea. She told Biggie that she would like to build stronger connections with Flora, Barry, Bluethopia and Neche, while admitting that the ongoing food rationing is beginning to stress her.
She also spoke about her situation with Nomy before turning her attention to Keivo. Temi admitted that she doesn't fully understand where things stand between them and revealed that she's no longer sure she even wants to share a bed with him.
Although she acknowledged that Keivo can cook, make her bed and do thoughtful things for her, Temi said she wants something deeper, someone she can actually talk to. She eventually admitted that she may no longer want to pursue things with Keivo.
The emotions caught up with her after she left the diary room. Temi went straight to her bed and broke down in tears. Araga and Goddessa comforted her, with Goddessa encouraging her to remain true to herself.
