News02 August 2026
The first Live Show of Big Brother Naija S11 was not all fun and games. The housemates felt the wrath of Ebuka: he called out their energy in the house and reminded them to up their game. Before the end of the show, The Gambit was announced: it is Flora and Aikou.

Ebuka came ready for the first Live Show: dripped in a traditional attire, he made sure the housemates felt his wrath as they reflected on the week that was. True to his unpredictable style, he even threw a bit of shade to some of them. They disappointed him this week.

Despite the fact that the housemates packed their suitcases, not sure of who might leave the house, there was no live evictions this week. Instead, Ebuka announced that the fans voted who they wanted to stay until the finale: The Gambit.

And by the end of the show, The Gambit had been revealed: Aikou and Flora. The two of them will not be playing for the grand prize of ₦160 million.

Ebuka also announced that from next Saturday, housemates will start voting for the Most Influential Player of the Week (MIPOW). The fans of the betPAWA weekly competition was also announced.

They’re not giving

During the live show, house crossings took place so that Ebuka could talk to the housemates.

Ebuka criticised the housemates for their energy in the game. They were not up to standard when it came to the Head of House (HoH) challenge and the wager task build up. He said he went to bed during Thursday’s Pool Party. Ebuka told the housemates: “Too many of you waiting for things to happen, and not enough of you making things happen.”

Towards the end of the show, Ebuka made his message clear: “This is a show, and ultimately I and the fans expect to be entertained.”

No excuses

When he spoke to Chimsom Chuka about his HoH reign, Ebuka asked: “Who gave you the toughest time?” The HoH admitted that it was Bells, because she had been late a couple of times.

Ebuka shaded Abi, the Deputy HoH: he said that he felt she had not done anything to stand out in her role. She responded by saying she had not received any instructions. He asked her: “What did you do about it?” She looked embarrassed and said “nothing”.

Ebuka then came for Cassi. He asked: “If you left today, would you say that you’ve left an impression in any way?” Cassi said “no.” Ebuka probed him and asked what he was waiting for. Cassi replied: “There’s no excuse, actually.”

Kids in the house?

During one of the house crossings on the show, Ebuka asked Martins about something he had said. “You made a statement: ‘the problem with this house is that there are too many kids.’ Who are the kids?”

Martins didn’t hold back, he said it with his chest. “Honestly, Tram for instance. He doesn’t know how to put his words right. Bluetophia, she’s acting her age. She’s a child. She has that energy. She’s a Gen Z. She has that energy. Temi – she’s THE Gen Z.”

Under pressure

Aikou was also put in a tight spot. He was asked who he thinks is putting up an act. Aikou seemed very careful with his words. In the end, he said Flora’s name.

Ebuka told Keivo that he and other housemates made a few promises to the viewers and the fans a week ago. “Do you think you are fulfilling those promises?”
With confidence, Keivo responded. “Yes I am. I’m being myself and unique.”
