Week eight's Head of House (HoH) Challenge was a special one, as the Show Ya Sef housemates were not just competing for the coveted HoH title and the goodies that come with it: immunity for the week and a loft to share with a chosen guest. Biggie had more in store for this week's winner!
Keivo and Barry battle
The challenge had three games. Keivo and Barry were the two housemates who conquered the third game after successfully placing eighteen balls in a tower. For the final round of the game, Barry and Keivo played "Wild Climber," an obstacle path with a daunting challenge: collect a ping-pong ball and, using the provided spoons, manoeuvre the ball through the marked checkpoints and into the cup.
Barry was able to get to checkpoint number 3 before he was buzzed out, while Keivo only passed checkpoint number 1. Barry was crowned the winner and told he is the Ultimate Veto Power Holder and has the power to influence nominations this week and next week. HoH Barry chose Keivo as his HoH loft guest, while Bells becomes the Benchwarmer of the week.
Housemates have to pitch to be saved by HoH Barry
As the Ultimate Veto Power Holder, Barry earned the power to influence nominations this week and next week, regardless of the outcome of next week's Head of House Challenge. This led to a different nominations process. During the live nominations show, once a housemate's name was called, they were given the chance to make a two-minute pitch to the Ultimate Veto Power Holder, Barry, making a case for why they should be saved from possible eviction this week.
Keivo went first, followed by Oyin, Sheba, Chimsom Chuka, Yusuf, Flora, Aikou, Temi Nkem, Bluethopia, Ricky, Bells, and Tram. Once the process was done, Biggie asked HoH Barry to say who he had decided to save in front of the housemates; he chose Aikou. This meant all housemates were up for possible eviction this week except HoH Barry (immunity by winning Ultimate Veto Power) and Aikou (saved by the Ultimate Veto Power Holder).
Barry is the first Show Ya Sef Finalist
Barry's night of wins did not end with his HoH and Ultimate Veto Power Holder win. Biggie announced that Barry is the first finalist of the season, and as such, he has immunity until the finale.
