About DStv on Demand

DStv on Demand is DStv’s new Video On Demand (VOD) service, available to DStv Premium customers.

The DStv on Demand service currently offers approximately 20 additional hours of premium content each month, for free! Sport, series and specials – they’re all sent to your PVR to be accessed and viewed at a time convenient to you, at no additional cost.

Follow this quick checklist to find out whether you can access this service:

• Do you have a SD-PVR? Check.
• Does it have the latest software upgrades? Check.
• Are you a DStv Premium subscriber? Check.

That’s it – you’re ready to go.


Please remember:

• This content is available for a limited time only. Check each item sent to your PVR for an expiry date.
• This content is downloaded to a seperate hard drive space catered for during the initial planning of the PVR. So there is no impact to your 80 hours of recording space.
• This content is downloaded to your PVR when you have no scheduled recordings. Programmes may take up to 48 hours to download after they have appeared in the menu.
  

Why aren’t there movies on DStv on Demand anymore?
Our research has indicated that the “catch up” service for series is far more popular than the movies available on DStv on Demand. By removing the movies, we are able to increase the number of series for which we offer the “catch up” service, thus providing a wider choice. We will still continue to offer specials and music concerts when available.
