2011 sees the launch of a new Carte Blanche show – to be aired on Monday nights 19:00.
 
Commissioned by M-Net, this series replaces Carte Blanche Medical, which had a successful run in 2010.

Carte Blanche Extra begins on Monday, 24 January and will be an interactive show, championing the rights of consumers. The by-line “it’s all about you” sums it up - case studies will be drawn from the viewing public and, based in the Carte Blanche newsroom, problems will be dealt with in a consumer “war room”.

Carte Blanche Extra, like the Sunday show, will be a live broadcast, allowing for increased viewer interaction. The aim is to bring the viewer as close as possible to the show so that they can decide on content.

According to Carte Blanche Executive Producer, George Mazarakis: “This is an opportunity for consumers to see their own power and to see how they can go about solving consumer-related issues. We hope to solve consumer disputes speedily and live on air, which is a very exciting and entertaining development for South African television. We are full of energy and ready to fight for consumer rights.”

Carte Blanche Medical and Carte Blanche Consumer, which ran for four seasons, will both come off air.
