Welcome Women's Month with Lira and Beyoncè

Ahead of Women’s Day on August 9^th, DStv ushers in the month for celebration of all things womanly with specials from two spectacular divas.

South Africa’s homegrown goddess, the multi-talented Lira shines both in and off the stage in the new development of her own production company, Aril Films. Lira is the first of any African star to produce a concert film and Lira: The Captured Tour looks to be a feat. Featuring hits from throughout her career, The Captured Tour was filmed over 3 months and is exclusive to M-Net, taking viewers on a journey through Lira’s finest moments onstage and, on a more personal note, her favourite touring memories.

A global star and monstrously savvy businesswoman, Beyoncè is synonymous with beauty, brains and everything ‘Independent Woman’. Her I Am… Yours tour- part promotion for her album I Am… Sasha Fierce, part opportunity for an intimate encounter with fans- is a 2009 performance from Las Vegas, centred around Beyoncé’s recording career. Maximising on the diva flavor, Beyoncè is backed by her all-female band Suga Mama and performs over 30 songs, revealing a side of herself which is said to be raw and honest, quite unlike anything fans have seen before.

As we kick off a month dedicated to the women of our past and present who define (and redefine) consummate strength, let these two ladies get you in the celebratory mood.
