From the Golden Globes to the Academy Awards to the British Academy Film awards, Django Unchained has made the nomination list for many accolades this year.

Drawing from the talents of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington and the barely recognisable Samuel L Jackson, Quentin Tarantino's highest grossing movie in the US has captivated audiences while also sparking controversy over the link between real-life and onscreen violence.

Although Tarantino has not always maintained his temper when asked about the violence depicted onscreen, he managed to keep his cool long enough to share his reasons for making the movie, with his cast weighing in on their experiences. Check out the video:
