Ashley Greene and her boyfriend Reeve Carney have called it quits on their relationship.

The 25-year-old Twilight star, who is currently in South Africa to promote the final instalment of the franchise, had been dating the Broadway actor for nearly a year.

Sources reveal that the pair attributes their break-up to their unrelenting itineraries.

Apparently Ashley and Reeve are on amicable terms.

"They are over," an insider revealed to Us Weekly magazine. "Reeve seems to be fine and it was just crazy with their schedules.

"Ashley is promoting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 heavily this autumn and Reeve will be performing onstage in his play Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark in New York.

The pair are simply unable to spend quality time with one another.

"She knows this is a pivotal time in her career," a second insider revealed. "I wouldn't say I could never see them getting back together but right now they are doing their own thing."

Ashley has spoken previously about her position on romance.

“I’m not one of those girls who sits at home thinking, by 25 I have to be married,” she told Cosmopolitan recently.

“Right now, I’m like I’m 25, I need to book my next movie! My parents have such a beautiful marriage."

“I’m not someone who takes it lightly. So I’m not going to get married until I know I’ll be with someone forever.”
