Some people dream of fame and wealth, but all Edward Nino Hernandez wanted was to grow taller.

But fame found Hernandez when he had his brief stint as the Guinness World Records’ smallest man in the world standing at 27 inches tall (68.58 CMs).

At 25 years old, Hernandez is dependent on his family to help him with even the simplest of things like having a bath. Standing as a tall as 1-year-old baby, his seven months of fame helped his poverty-stricken family.

Edward Nino Hernandez’s fame may have been short lived but all is not lost if he takes a few pointers from these actors. Despite their height, these five actors have made it big on the big screen and been huge on TV.

5. Gary Coleman





He made a household name for himself in the '80s sitcom, Diff’rent Strokes as the lovable Arnold Jackson. His catchphrase "What you talking 'bout, Willis?" and stature of 1.4m made him a comedic star. Sadly, Coleman passed away in 2010 after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

4. Wee Man





This little guy is known for his crazy and sometimes obscene stunts with the rest of the Jackass crew. Jason Acuña, popularly known as Wee Man, stands at 1.23m tall but has propelled himself to stardom with his love for skateboarding and pulling ridiculous pranks.

3. Verne Troyer




Verne Troyer made a big name for himself on the big screen as Dr Evil’s side kick, Mini Me in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. At 85cm tall, a mute Mini Me became a comedic sensation. One thing you may not know about Verne is that he played Griphook the goblin in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

2. Warwick Davis





He is no stranger to the big screen having appeared in the franchises of Star Wars, Harry Potter and the Chronicles of Narnia. Davis made a scary impact in the 1992 horror Leprechaun chasing a then unknown Jennifer Aniston. Standing at 1.07m tall, Davis played the role of Professor Flitwick in all the Harry Potter movies.

1. Peter Dinklage





Peter Dinklage is a superstar in his own right. He’s appeared in numerous movies and TV shows over the years including Nip/Tuck, Death at a Funeral, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Game of Thrones. At 1.35 m tall, this 2011 Emmy Award winner is a talented actor and proves his worth as Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones.
