It’s always great when something reminds you of your younger days – days when responsibilities were few, dreams were big and everything was just a little bit easier.

I’m often reminded of my youth in the strangest of places, the smell of the grass at the park on a sunny Saturday morning, my dad cooking my dinner, just like he used to in the old days. Often, while watching TV, I stumble across something that immediately transports me back to my youth.

Easily one of the funniest sitcoms that has ever been, Friends ran from 1994 to 2004 and had every one of us choosing a favourite, wishing we lived in New York City and thanking the heavens that we didn’t know anyone like Janice.



Home Improvement: Weekdays at 17:30 on Comedy Central
Way back when Jonathan Taylor Thomas was a star on the rise, Tim Allen was fairly new to TV and no one even cared about Pamela Anderson, my whole family would watch Home Improvement together. In effect, Home Improvement is a reminder of family time, nights spent in front of the television, talking about why Wilson never shows his face and why no one ever cut Brad’s mullet.

Street Fighter : Sat 16 Jun at 18:00 on Studio Universal
Ignoring the fact that Jean Claude Van Damme is in this one for a sec, Street Fighter reminds me of days spent playing the video game off a 24-in-one video cartridge, long before the days of PlayStations. If you’re a fan of the original Addams Family movie, it’s also great to see Raul Julia on screen again.
