South African movies won the top awards at the Zanzibar International Film Festival.

Inside Story won the awards for best African film and best actor for Kevin Ndege Mamboleo, reports the festival’s website.

Uhlanga (The Mark), another South African production, won the award for best female actor, which was shared by the movie’s Thuli Khulamelo, Nomfundo Dunazana and Reona Ngiba.

More than 80 films were screened during the nine-day festival.
