In second place on Glamour's sexiest men list is Avengers actor Tom Hiddleston, making his debut.

Earlier this year he was named Man of the Year by Glamour and he is praised for being “a genuine gentleman” and “incredibly clever”.

Other hunks to make the top five include Johnny Depp, Michael Fassbender and Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch.

Every member of One Direction has also made the list, with Harry Styles leading the way in 22nd place.

Other famous faces to feature in the top ten are Robert’s Twilight co-star Taylor Lautner, Robert Downey Jr. and James McAvoy. David Beckham, Justin Bieber, Zac Efron, Gerard Butler and Ryan Reynolds all made it into the top 50.

Oscar-winner Colin Firth, 52, is the oldest entry in the list. More than 40,000 people voted in this year’s poll.

With many younger men making the list, perennial favourites George Clooney and Brad Pitt didn't make the Top 50. Angelina Jolie's fiancé came in at number 61 in the poll. While the serial bachelor George Clooney snuck in at the bottom of the list at number 93.
