The American edition of People magazine has released its list of the sexiest men in the world for 2012 and the adonis head count includes South African gold medallist Oscar Pistorius.

The Blade Runner sprinted past Hollywood favourites to land eighth position on People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2012 list after earning himself a legion of fans from his appearance in the London 2012 Olympics. 

Top honours went to Magic Mike star, Channing Tatum who took the top coveted spot as People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2012.

It has been a busy year for Oscar. The 25-year-old runner is in high demand and has been jetting across the world making appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Piers Morgan Tonight, to name but a few.

Upon hearing the good news, South Africa's golden boy took to his Twitter account and humbly thanked the US publication.


It’s no surprise why Oscar’s popularity has grown. He is definitely one good looking “boytjie” on and off the track, even winning GQ magazine's Best Dressed Man of the Year in 2011.

The Thierry Mugler brand ambassador is currently flying across Europe. He recently finished shooting a spread with Marie Claire magazine for the French fashion and perfume creator in Paris.
