They say a match is made in heaven, but anyone who’s been watching our Namibian girls ensnare Liberians and Kenyans alike knows that perfect pairs are made in Big Brother StarGame.

After a season in which Jesica loved and lost sight of Luke, followed by Junia’s half-second hiatus from her main man Malonza, fans of the two J’s must be wondering what it is about Namibian women that make men want to cuddle and keep them - even if it’s cross country.

Fresh from a series of whirlwind interviews in Johannesburg and looking as cute as a Big Brother button, Junia joins us at Multichoice Namibia and laughs uproariously before revealing that men just can’t resist the “Nam flavour!”



“Seriously, though. I think Jess and I are both free spirited, spontaneous and down to earth young women and men generally like easy-going girls rather than the stuck up type,” says Junia. “We are young, gorgeous and beautiful people, so why not?”

Why not, indeed? However, the question that is most feverishly on everyone’s lips is why Junia and Malonza refuse to admit that they’re an item before driving off into one of our famed Namibian sunsets.

“Do you know what? I ran off stage and he was right there, we hugged, we were happy, we spent some time together in Joburg and we’re still in contact now,” says Junia. “But we really are just friends. What we have is beautiful and it means something to both of us.



It wasn’t for the sake of the cameras. As for the future? We’ll keep in contact, I will see him at the finals and we’re definitely thinking of visiting each other in each other’s countries.”

Blurry and a bit bashful, Junia can’t keep the smile off her face when she talks about the cute Kenyan, but grows more serious when she hears people may think coupling up was the Namibian girls’ strategy.

“For me it is hard to work with a strategy because I feel like I would be lying,” says Junia. “I am just Junia. I am bubbly and always happy, but if you get in my face I will tell you off.”

Ain’t that the truth; and someone who knows that just as well as Jannette does is South Africa’s Keagan, whose name brings a scowl to Junia’s otherwise excited face.

“Keagan did get on my nerves and piss me off. He is one of those people who I think of in terms of: Hi, I’ve met you. See you hopefully never again,” says Junia smiling wickedly.

“That said, I also have to thank him because my fights with him introduced me to “emotional Junia”, showed me I can defend myself and that if someone knocks me down I can get back up.”

Having loved and learnt, Junia will be returning to the College of the Arts to pursue her studies in drama which she hopes to parlay into an acting career.

“Big Brother StarGame was an incredible opportunity because I have always wanted to be on television and pursue my dream of being an actress,” says Junia. “I’m definitely going to embrace every opportunity that comes my way.”
