Connie Ferguson has kept the entertainment industry captivated with her style and grace.

We spoke to the man who keeps Connie looking gorgeous as Marang Lebone on The Wild (Monday to Thursday at 19:00 on M-Net), costume designer Philip Stapelberg.

How do you feel about getting the chance to work with one of South Africa's television and fashion icons, Connie Ferguson?

I am very grateful to have a job where I get to work with some of the best talents in the country. Connie Ferguson is a beautiful lady and to dress her in her role as Marang is an honour because she is an icon.

Marang has had some gorgeous outfits on The Wild. Who designed the outfit Marang wore at Tiro and Lelo's wedding?

Myself and The Wild's seamstress Nokuthula Mthetwa design all our original pieces and source the material to create the outfits. Our inspiration for the design of Marang’s dress at Tiro and Lelo’s wedding was a little bit of all the South African cultures.

What is your creative process when you create some of Connie's outfits on The Wild?

Once Nokuthula Mthetwa and myself receive a script from production we try to come up with a creation that will suit the mood of the scene that Connie will appear in as well as her personality as Marang. Nokuthula and myself never stop working as we are constantly visiting markets where we are on the lookout for any material that could work in creating new garments and we are always on the lookout for new clothing styles that will look good on characters on The Wild such as Marang.
